Viktoriya Zaharieva is a talented pianist with a classical sensibility. She performs in two main areas – as a classical pianist and as an entertainer pianist at different events and venues. A native of Bulgaria, Viktoriya’s piano studies started at the age of seven. Later her intensive training continued at the National Music School and at eighteen she commenced her education the National Music Academy. With a PhD in Musicology, and an impressive scientific and educational background, Viktoriya’s commitment to years of study and public performance has been resolute.
Viktoriya participated in a number of master-classes with some of the leading piano tutors in the country, gaining valuable experience and increasing her performance confidence. Viktoriya gave a number of performances during her time at the National Music School, and, following her graduation in 2000, regularly gave concerts and solo recitals at the Academy.
Viktoriya’s hard work and practice were driving her career to the next level. While still studying her craft she participated in a number of well-received concerts. She also entered (both as a soloist and as a duet with violin) piano competitions such as the Young Music Talent competition in Sofia, Russian & Bulgarian Music Competition in Varna, piano competition organized with Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski” (that awarded a special prize for Polish music performance with Chopin – Ballade 1), Composer competition at the National Music Academy (where the represented composer won first prize).
Viktoriya has a broad repertoire of classical piano music. Personal favourites include Chopin, Rachmananov, Schumann, Scriabin and many more. Her musical ability and personal style have brought her considerable success. In a concert environment, she is an impressive soloist, and her performance also adds greatly any chamber group.
Currently based in Dubai Viktoriya continues to perform and being part of cultural life of the country.
