Henry Bennett is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer from the UK. He studied voice with Mark Wildman at the Royal Academy of Music. He’s sung with English Touring Opera and appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, St. Johns Smith Square, the Royal Opera House, and Birmingham Symphony Hall. He was a ‘Gentleman of the Chapel Royal’, Hampton Court Palace.
Alongside his classical performing Henry fronts a live electronic act. ColouringIN have twice been featured on BBC radio 1.
Henry moved to Central China to direct Hunan University Opera and Chorus in 2010. He spent time archiving the folk songs of remote mountain tribes and in the following year extended his research to the Middle East. He is producing a documentary feature about the ‘Lost Songs’ of the desert.
The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Sharjah Art Foundation and Abu Dhabi Education Council have commissioned Henry’s work. His latest audio-visual composition ‘No Place Here’ is currently showing in London. He is now working with acclaimed Parisian filmmaker Karim Zeriahen and developing a digital piece about Arabic Dance with Naziha Mestaoui for Zayed University and the Institut Francais. Former commercial clients include Coca Cola, LG, Kleenex and Red Bull.
Henry is Musician in Residence at the UNESCO sponsored initiative Abu Dhabi Art Hub.
